Teon Wiley had walked to a store on Overton Crossing in Frayser Jan. 30, 2020. As he left the store he was shot several times. Moments before the shooting he had been asked by someone else for one dollar.
When the murder occurred police described the case as an apparent robbery gone bad. But Wiley’s husband of four years, Robert Wilkins-Wiley, believes it was more like an execution. “From that day to this I still don’t know if it was a hate crime,” he said two years later.
